The Exchange Club of Culver City is a local service organization founded in 1949 and affiliated with the National Exchange Club. Its members support civic and charitable programs throughout Culver City and nearby communities, with a particular emphasis on child-abuse prevention, youth programs, scholarships, veterans, and families in need. Over the years the club has raised money for local schools and nonprofits, awarded college scholarships to graduating Culver City High School students, and organized community events including the George Barris Culver City Car Show.

One of the club’s most enduring traditions was the Culver City Independence Day Fireworks Show, begun in the mid-1960s by Exchange Club members Charles Pratty, Earl Eskridge and John McNally. Originally staged at Culver City High School, the celebration grew from a few hundred spectators to crowds approaching 10,000 and became a major annual community event, with proceeds supporting the club’s charitable work. The Exchange Club has continued that tradition of civic fundraising through events such as the car show, which now draws hundreds of vehicles to Downtown Culver City and raises money for local nonprofit organizations.
