Fiesta La Ballona is Culver City’s annual community festival, held at Veterans Memorial Park and often described as the city’s “Party at the Park.” The three-day celebration typically includes carnival rides, live music and performances, food vendors, games, nonprofit and community booths, and family activities. Over the years it has become one of Culver City’s largest and most recognizable civic traditions, bringing together residents, local organizations, performers and visitors for a late-summer celebration of the community. The 2026 Fiesta marked the event’s 75th anniversary.

Fiesta La Ballona began in 1951 as a partnership between the City of Culver City and the Culver City Chamber of Commerce. Originally conceived as a weeklong celebration of the city’s early history — from the Spanish and Rancho eras through Culver City’s founding and growth — the early Fiesta included a parade through town and festivities at Veterans Memorial Park. Over the decades the event changed dates, shortened from a full week to a weekend, and gradually evolved from a heritage celebration into what organizers came to call a “Festival of the People.” Despite those changes, Veterans Memorial Park has remained the heart of Fiesta La Ballona for more than seven decades.
