St. Augustine Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish at 3850 Jasmine Avenue, across from the former MGM Studios, now Sony Pictures Studios. The parish serves a multicultural congregation and has long been closely tied to Culver City’s civic and entertainment history. Its present Gothic-style church, designed by architect J. Earl Trudeau, opened in 1957 and was formally dedicated in 1958.

The congregation traces its origins to 1883, when the Figueroa family donated land for a small mission church on Washington Boulevard; the first church was completed in the 1880s and was the first church in what later became Culver City. St. Augustine was formally established as a parish in 1919. During the 1920s and 1930s, pastor Father John O’Donnell developed close ties with nearby MGM Studios, sometimes serving as a technical adviser on films, while studio figures helped support parish fundraising. A larger church opened in 1937 before being replaced by the present building two decades later. The original church site is recognized by the Culver City Historical Society as one of the city’s historic sites.
